Design is all about scale, mass, context, and use. Whether one is creating the next soaring urban tower or connecting something new with the ancient, the same core values and methodology apply. My attention to these governing forces allow me to move effortlessly between genres. While my focus of late has been with historical structures; renovations, restorations and repurposing, the ability to create the next new building technology and aesthetic is guided by the same principles.

A Pennsylvania Barn renovation was studied completely in 3-dimensions as the heavy timbering construction was to be saved intact. A full digital model of the existing barn structure was first constructed and then various build out options installed and tested for beam clearances and restrictions.
