Designer Showcase

Philadelphia, PA

Another project that I worked on as a project manager for SRK Architects in Philadelphia, PA. This was again a penthouse, high rise space in a downtown building designed as a publicity showcase as a fundraiser vehicle for the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. The designers were to create their own fictitious client and design a space particular to them. In our case, we chose an artist / art collector.

Designed as an apartment / condominium for this artist / collector, our concept was to maximize space and lighting for wall hung art and sculpture as well as floor pieces. To that end, all of the furniture was designed and built out of concrete which was used either as a base for other artwork, artwork on it’s own or for seating. Artists’ work from all over the tri-state area were installed and showcased as well.
